Sandy Springs Multi-specialty Dental Practice

Dentist near me

Our healthcare delivery model is the Better Way to Coordinate Care.  In a group practice, my daughters and I have an opportunity to share ideas and develop professionally. This collaboration enhances your dental experience.

Our multispecialty group is composed of dentists from a wide range of expertise who practice under the umbrella of the same organization, the Right Smile Center.  Patients receive comprehensive dental treatment that is efficient and thorough. Systems and services are designed by the Right Smile Center deliver of high-quality, coordinated, patient-centered care.  We believe we can improve your patient care by having multiple dental professionals with whom to consult on and refer to for alternative patient care under one roof.

While most group practices have dentists with a single area of expertise, we provide in-house prosthodontics, endo, perio, implant placement and restoration. A practice with a diverse array of specialists is designed to attract more patients seeking a one-stop shop for their oral health concerns.

Improved diagnostics, new therapies, more sophisticated equipment – as dentistry progresses, is impossible for a single dentist to know everything the discipline of modern dentistry has to offer.  A multispecialty group fosters an environment of collaboration among many dentists – each an expert in a particular aspect of dentistry – to provide the greatest benefit to patients.  We believe better patient care is a direct result of our multispecialty practice.

Another aspect of a multispecialty practice is the use and sharing of highly expensive and sophisticated equipment to perform diagnostic screenings and deliver valued patient treatment. By working in a group practice, we can share the cost of deploying equipment that may have been too costly for a single provider.

Our model distributes both the administrative costs and the risks associated with owning and running a solo practice.

So when you’re here for regularly scheduled routine maintenance, take advantage of having fresh set of eyes examine you when one of us is out of town or indisposed.  We practice together because we have confidence in each other.  We hope you will too.  And when we can’t meet those needs, we’ll refer you out.

If we can answer any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Start Smiling Again

Sandy Springs Dentist near me

There are a number of ways a cosmetic dentist (prosthodontist) can help you improve the look of your smile. In some cases, even restorative dental treatment can help to improve the look of your smile. Just as summer turns to fall, so can your once pearly white teeth, become dingy after years of staining, leading to a less-than-confidence inducing smile. Of course, discoloration isn’t the only potential cosmetic concern that can develop over time. Wear along the teeth’s edges, chips, and cracks can also be troubling imperfections.

For chips, cracks, worn edges and other visible damage to teeth, we would recommend a beautiful form of restorative dental treatment, like a porcelain crown. Crowns can help to hide the cause for your cosmetic concern, while still providing ample protection to your most fragile teeth.

Crowns can help keep chips, cracks and other damage from worsening with wear. Yet thanks to porcelain’s customizability, this restoration can provide cosmetic improvements, as well as the functional benefits, since the crown(s) can be carefully made to match your existing teeth, seamlessly.

Call or email us for a complimentary (free) consult.  We’ll give you the right smile so you can start smiling again.

Define Your Oral Healthcare Future

Dentist near me

If ever perspective matters, it’s now!  Your future as a dental patient will be defined by your viewpoint relative to the alternatives available to you. The debate is real. The choices aren’t always easy. What I’m referencing is the difference between private practices and corporate dentistry.

It’s may not appear clear to everyone that the Private Practice vs Corporate Dentistry topic is a real issue with serious consequences for the unprepared patient.

The greater reality is deciding what model is best for you and your oral care philosophy.

  • Private Practice Dentistry Model? (Locally owned and operated.)
  • Corporate Practice Dentistry Model? (Non-dentist owned and/or controlled.)

The good news: you have choices in today’s world of dentistry up to a certain degree.  And degree is influenced by your insurance provider and your location.  And your decision can determine the next five, 10, 20 or more years of your dental healthcare.

Private practice dentistry has dominated practice structures for many years, and it still remains the most common model for new and established dentists.  And the majority of evidence bears out that solo or locally owned group private practice dentistry provides the highest level of independence possible in dentistry – which can be a blessing – or a curse.

And a Group Practice is an umbrella term that describes a number of scenarios, from a partnership of two or more dentists, to larger multi location organizations.  The practice might have multiple dentists working at a single location, or several locations, each with a dentist serving as leader of the team.

In essence, let no one define your future oral healthcare except YOU and our personal bias is that a multi-specialty group practice like ours provides you with the most independent care you will want and need. Our independence gives you the freedom to make the choice that benefits you from a dentist you can trust to have your best interests in mind. If we can be of help contact us today for a free consult.

Sandy Springs Dentists : Advantages of a Multi-specialty Practice

Sandy Springs Dentists near meOur healthcare delivery model is a Better Way to Coordinate Care.  In the Right Smile Center, a group practice setting, our dentists have an opportunity to share ideas and develop treatment on the spot.

Our multispecialty group is composed of dentists from a wide range of specialties who practice under the same umbrella organization, the Right Smile Center.  Through collaboration among these specialists, patients receive comprehensive dental treatment that is efficient and thorough. The systems and services are designed by the Right Smile Center to assist you in the delivery of high-quality, coordinated, patient-centered care.  Our providers believe they can improve your patient care by having multiple dental professionals with whom to consult in-house and refer to for alternative patient care under one roof.

The real benefit is our providers chose the option to work with each other instead of working alone. In our case, dentists of different specialties work together so that patients can receive care that requires multiple solutions at a single location. While most group practices have dentists with a single area of specialization, we have in-house prosthodontics, endo, perio, implant placement and restoration. A practice with a diverse array of specialists is designed to attract more patients seeking a one-stop shop for all their oral health concerns.

Improved diagnostics, new therapies, more sophisticated equipment – as dentistry progresses, it is impossible for a single dentist to know everything the discipline of modern dentistry has to offer.  A multispecialty group fosters an environment of collaboration among many dentists – each an expert in a particular aspect of dentistry – to provide the greatest benefit to patients.

We of course have experience to provide a cross-over of patient care that allows us to cover for each other’s patients when one is out of the office or out of town.  Group practices can assemble a team of dentists and other experts to meet the unique oral healthcare needs of all our patients.  We believe better patient care is a direct result of our multispecialty practice.

Another aspect of a multispecialty practice is the use and sharing of highly expensive equipment to perform diagnostic screenings and cost effective treatment. By working in a group practice, we can share the cost of deploying equipment that may have been too costly for a single provider. Group practices distribute both the administrative costs and the risks associated with owning and running a solo practice.

An overview of the direct and indirect advantages to you as a patient.

  • Multispecialty group practices promote an environment that encourages and enhances communication, collaboration and peer review, leading to high-quality care. This is especially beneficial to patients with multiple or complex oral problems.
  • A multispecialty group practice can offer “one-stop shopping” and save patients time by scheduling appointments with several doctors on the same day at one location, coordinating testing, obtaining on-the-spot referrals and consultations and reduce the needless time involved in rescheduling when one of us unavailable.
  • Multispecialty group practices provide a setting in which physicians can specialize in a particular area and become experts. This means there are experts on hand to diagnose and treat unusual oral problems.
  • Many multispecialty practices have dentists in rare specialties such as prosthodontics or implant surgery that you can’t find in smaller, solo practices.

So when you’re here for regularly scheduled routine maintenance, take advantage of having fresh set of eyes examine you when one of us is out of town or indisposed.  We practice together because we have confidence in each other.  We hope you will too.  And when we can’t meet those needs, we’ll refer you out.

Dentist Sandy Springs: ADA Recognized “Cosmetic Dentist” is a Prosthodontist

Cosmetic dentist near meMore and more dentists are calling themselves ‘cosmetic dentists’ when there is no cosmetic specialty in dentistry.   Regardless of this claim, the fact remains that the majority of dentists are general dentists who press the envelope of ethics by calling themselves ‘cosmetic dentists’.  Not one of them has an American Dental Association sanctioned ‘cosmetic specialty’ in dentistry.

Those dentists who make the claim do so by self-proclamation.  The American Dental Association (ADA) recognizes nine (9) post dental degree specialties and cosmetic dentistry IS NOT one of them.

These ADA specialties are:

Dental Public Heath, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Radiology and Surgery, Orthodontics, Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, and the least known, the PROSTHODONTIST.

Prosthodontics: (crown, bridge, and implants) According to Forbes Magazine, a prosthodontist is the rarest dental specialty in the country.  The rigorous program creates a dental specialty license pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.  That’s a mouth full, pun intended. The prosthodontist is trained at an ADA approved university to create the smile that implements the use of veneers, crowns, bridges and the new standard of care, dental implants, to ensure that the right smile is achieved, both functionally and aesthetically.

If anyone has a specialty in cosmetic dentistry or has the right to call themselves a ‘cosmetic dentist’, it would be the ADA recognized prosthodontist.  And of the 170 thousand dentists in the U.S., less than two (2%) percent are trained prosthodontists.  So when you are seriously looking for a cosmetic dentist, look for a prosthodontist.

Dr. Scheinfeld received her prosthodontics degree from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1988.  Her prosthodontics’ instructor, Dr. E. Neal Kopp practiced with her for 14 years until his passing in 2008.

In addition to prosthodontics, our practice provides in-house endodontics, general dentistry and implants.  If we can be of service contact us for your complimentary consult.

Sandy Springs Dentist: Dental Implants are the Standard of Care

Sandy Springs implant dentist near meDental implants are stronger and more durable than restorative alternatives[1].  And from an esthetic standpoint, dental implants look and feel more natural.  And they function better than the alternatives.  They offer a relatively permanent solution to tooth and bone loss. Additionally, implants may be used to support a single crown, a dental bridge or a complete denture.

Procedural advancements provide a larger population than ever for dental implants.[2]  Keep in mind, while a general dentist may perform the crown and bridge restorations, prosthodontists[3] are most often your best choice for the successful completion of this technique sensitive procedure.

If multi-specialty practice can ever be of help please don’t hesitate to call so we can answer your questions.  With over 30 years of experience, we provide both in-house implant placement and prosthodontic expertise in their restoration.
